Cristina Arvana - Visual artist, illustrator, and designer
I'm Cristina Arvana, I'm a fashion and graphic designer (and also illustrator) however I like to call myself a visual artist, once my work includes and embrace so many strands but the main purpose is always the creative expression of my visual universe.
"I take the risk, I don't erase my trait, I live it"
In this way, I express myself and explore the visual arts on the whole.In painting, illustration, ceramics, textiles, whatever the base, there is this trait, this line, that unites my work.
I like to express the essence, record emotions and tell stories.
Translate them into my visual universe in a way that you can feel them too.
Nature inspires me, with its colors, shapes, and textures, but essentially the emotions and feelings they provoke.
In me and in the whole, in us as human beings.
The connections we create, are those traits that unite us in space and time.
The simple details of life enchant me.
A smile, sunlight, the shadows of trees and flowers, the sea, a tear.
We are part of a thousand others, with sun and shade along the path we walk.
I Graduated in Fashion Design, and practiced exclusively for more than 15 years here in Portugal.
In 2016, the passion for visual arts spoke louder and I decided to focus on illustration and editorial design. Since then, I added a handful (this year will be two) of edited books.
I co-founded the independent publishing project @fazedoras_de_historias as well as @oficina.artes an itinerant artistic expression atelier
Nowadays, most of the time I'm dedicated to my creative studio, @arvieland_estudiocriativo where, in addition to my brand, I develop design and visual arts projects in partnership with other brands and ateliers (illustration, ceramic etc)
Here @arvieland_textile_art I'll show you all the work dedicated to textile art, surface design and textile accessories.
